Please tell us about yourself, you’re everyday life, and the city where you live!
My name is Nicklas Pedersen, I’m 23 years old and originally from Copenhagen, Denmark. I am currently living in Melbourne. I travelled to Australia over two years ago and fell in love with the place straight away. I have seen and been to a lot of places here but I liked Melbourne the most, so I decided to stay here. It is a beautiful city and it’s no wonder it has been awarded the title as “The most livable city in the world“ numerous of times within the last couple of years. The lifestyle, culture, food and the amount of sporting events and festivals all year round makes it hard to get bored. During the week I work as a carpenter and when I have time off, I spend time working as a model and hanging out with my friends going to the beach, having BBQ’s and enjoying myself.

What hobby or activities you usually do in your spare time?
I like to keep fit and usually go to the gym 4 times a week along with swimming and playing football/soccer. I love to travel and usually go on a couple of holidays during the year, when I become too stressed and need to unwind.

What is the biggest dream or ambition in your life?
My biggest dream was actually to come to Australia and travel. So now that I am here and have done it, I can feel now that I have definitely gotten the travel bug. There is nothing better than to travel through a country not knowing what’s going to happen and whom you are going to meet. I am now dreaming of going to America and South America.

Who or what is the biggest inspiration in your life?
I would consider my mom as my biggest inspiration. She has always been there for me and supported me in everything I have done. I am very close with her and even though I am living abroad, I make sure to speak with her every week. She taught me to chase my dreams and to make every day count. If it hadn’t been for her, I wouldn’t have had the courage to quit my job, pack my backpack and fly across the world alone. I am forever grateful for the way she has raised me! Being away, I have realized just how important family is and I miss my family very much.

What is the proudest moment of your life?
The proudest moment was when I graduated and passed my carpentry test. I struggled a few times during my apprenticeship and was close to quitting at one stage, as things weren’t running as smooth as I would have liked them to. But my mom told me to finish what I had started and not to just run away when things became hard. I pulled myself together and ended up graduating on time and with good grades on my mom’s birthday. To this day today she still says it was the best birthday present a mom could ever wish for.

If you have to choose only one, which part of your body that you like the most?
Uh that’s a hard one. I think that would have to be my abs! 😉

What is your signature style in fashion? Can you describe it for us?
My style would probably be seen as classic preppy. I love my boat shoes and my wardrobe counts numerous Ralph Lauren shirts and polo’s. I wear a lot of blue as well as it is my favorite color.

You have double jobs as a model and a carpenter, which one do you find more challenging?
It is really hard to pick one over the other. Both industries can be quite hard and stressful in their own way. I really enjoy both.

What is the most important thing that you have learned after you have traveled abroad and lived far away from your homeland?
Number one thing would definitely be that you have to rely on yourself. When you are living away on your own, there is no one to help you or do certain things for you. Your parents aren’t there to take care of you. You are responsible for getting a place to live and a job to support yourself.

In your own words, what is the definition of “The Most Desirable Man in The World”?
In my eyes “the most desirable man in the world” has to be beautiful inside out. You would have to be lovely to look at and even more lovely to talk to. You should have an amazing personality along with good looks.

What makes you interested to join the Mr World 2014 competition?
To represent your country in any given contest is an amazing thing, as I am very proud to be Danish. It seemed different and at the same time as a great experience that very few people get to do! I like the physical challenges and am really looking forward to competing against all the other guys.

Mr World is famous for its physical demanding challenge that requires the fittest of body and mind. What is your preparation for this challenge?
I really love sports and have always kept myself fit. After being crowned Mr. World Denmark 2014, I have stepped up my training even more. I make sure to go to the gym 4 days a week along with swimming and playing football/soccer on the days I am not lifting weights. Maintaining a healthy diet is just as important as well.

Which part of the Mr World 2014 competition do you look forward the most? The sports, talent, multimedia, style and fashion, or extreme challenge?
I have to admit that I am really looking forward to the sports. I see myself as an athletic person, so with all my training and preparations, hopefully I will do well! The other categories sound interesting even though I am not quite sure what to expect.

Last but not least, what is your message for all your fans and supporters?
I just want to say thanks for all the support and that I will do my very best!! It will be hard but everything is possible if you just keep believing in yourself & work hard for it!
